Applying Rive Gauche pour homme?

OK, my first cologne was a bottle with a splash type top and that was simple enough to apply, dab here, dab there.

Father Christmas bought me a bottle of Rive Gauche pour Homme with a squirty top.

What's the best way to apply this, squirt to each wrist and then just tap together or a single squirt to one wrist and then tap together? It seems like a single squirt will go a long way. I know rubbing together is frowned upon but what about tapping?

How about the neck thing, squirt into fingertips and then tap onto neck?

This seems quite a strong scent so I imagine that it's easy to use too much.

I appreciate that these are very newbish questions but I'd appreciate the advice.

You are right.... a little of RGPH goes a long way. I spray a mist on my chest and give a spray to my left wrist (I'm right handed so I spray with right) and then I will just tap my wrists together once or twice. I love this scent. A very good anytime scent. Enjoy!

A lot of us here skip the wrists (including me). I wash my hands so often throughout the day. I also don't want the scent getting on my coat sleeves as I generally switch fragrances each day. I would try giving just one spray to the neck/chest area and go from there. You are right that it is a potent frag so a little goes a long way. However, in the summer time when I am wearing short sleeves and no coats, I will often spray some on my arms too.

As for "rubbing"....well, that is highly contested. I personally don't think it does anything but heat up the fragrance, and in result, might not last quite as long. Others swear it ruins the scent. "Tapping" the wrists together should be fine though.

Depends on what I am wearing, I don't really want too much scent on my clothes.
1 spray to each wrist or lower arm, assuming I have no clothing covering up my arms.

Sometimes dab to neck with fingertips.

Agree it's a great fragrance, one of my favourites.

A spray or two to the upper chest works for me. I get good dosage per spray with Rive Gauche, and it's thankfully not a mild scent.

I'm another one who doesn't bother with spraying the wrists. I do like to spray or dab a little bit behind the lower part of each ear.

Great, thanks!

You guys know your stuff.

I asked here for suggestions as to what to get and RGPH was suggested - I wore it yesterday having shaved with Old Spice cream and used Old Spice aftershave (both from India) and it worked really well and today I've used RGPH again after shaving with ToBS Shaving Shop and using ToBS Shaving Shop aftershave and they complement each other nicely.
