Who's tried it and what are your thoughts on it? I've been considering ordering some and would love some input.
AOS Ocean Kelp

To me it has a flinty/mineral-y note that reminds me of a low tide, but otherwise no ocean smell. Maybe some watermint or similar because there is some sweetness. Its a great cream, though. I'm a soap guy but I always have a jar of Ocean Kelp on hand. Its a soft cream, similar to TOBS/DRH/GFT creams and only a few swirls creates some nice, thick lather.
I believe that Garry might have some samples or if there is a AOS or Nordstrom's in the area, they might be able to provide samples. I've found that RazoRock Fresco is a close "clone" scent-wise so if you don't want to pull the trigger on the Ocean Kelp that's a cheaper alternative.

The stuff smells great. Kind of hard to describe the scent. Definitely my favorite of the AOS creams though.
Same here. Easy to make good lather and I like (but can't adequately describe) the scent.
A good cream to have. Gives a protective and slick later, a little goes a long way.
I was told by Stephanie at Art of Shaving to expect a reformulation of the Ocean Kelp Cream 
...and to expect some pleasant changes to come regarding the Line...Hopefully they'll make a soap, too! She also hinted at a new scent coming soon...

I like this stuff, lathers and cushions well, has a bit of a cucumbery note.

New scent you say? This has me quite intrigued as I am a big fan of AoS''s software.
Great performer! I agree with BrookR1 that it smells similar to DRH Arlington.
I have the whole line and like the pre shave and cream but the ASB just is not as good as AOS sandalwood in smell and performance for me. If you have a chance to get some you will not be disappointed.

I might be moving back to PA at the beginning of the year. I'll have to make a trip to AOS in KOP to check these scents out. I can't do all at once as I'd like, lol. I'm torn between the Ocean Kelp and Sandalwood. I've got Lemon and I used up my lavender and unscented. So those two are the last ones for me to try as well as the soaps. I'm a big fan of their products as well. AOS is actually how I found the world of wet shaving.
Ocean Kelp is great stuff.
I have the Ocean Kelp in the preshave, cream, and after shave lotion. For me the scent is great, best of the AoS line. The AS scent is very light and does not last more than a few minutes. I will repurchase the cream but probably not the preshave or AS. The Ocean Kelp is often out of stock at my local AoS store as it is very popular.

My second favorite scented AOS Cream, Lavender is first for me, a slick protective lather which moisturizes very well.
I'm just about to start a two week run with AOS Ocean Kelp. I'm really looking forward to it...awesome stuff!

Ok, for those of you who have both Sandalwood and Ocean Kelp...which one would you recommend if only one could be bought right now?
I cannot add much as I bought the Ocean Kelp cream and ASL during their friends & family sale, but haven't had a chance to use the cream yet. I have decided to use it sparingly in order to make sure I have enough product to get through the 2014 Sabbatical.
In any case, the scent is not a modern aquatic one...it smells more like fresh seaweed (hence the ocean kelp title).
I am an avid user of the Sandalwood cream (and soap). The scent alone is worthy of purchase...it helps that performance is also outstanding

I believe in this case, "Ocean Kelp" refers an ingredient used for its skin care properties, rather than the scent. The scent is made up of several essential oils:
Lemon peel oil
Bergamot fruit oil
Bitter orange flower oil
Orange peel oil
Lavender oil
Lime oil
Tangerine oil
Rosemary leaf oil
I don't smell seaweed at all, and I wouldn't expect to.
