What's new

Anyone tried a Titan R-1 or M-1?

I'm very tempted to pick one of these up. I've seen the Atlas review, but I like longer handles. Someone must have used one enough to review it.

Anyone?? Anyone?? Buehler??

Yes, I've used the Titan with the R-1 plate for the past three days -- I just got the razor this week. The R plate is probably a little aggressive for some people, but it has provided me with a great shave for three straight days - close without irritation, nicks, or weepers.

I haven't used the H or M plates yet as I am waiting until I need a new blade to try a different plate.
The ATT Titan is a well made and very beautiful tool.
It's my new favorite DE by a long shot.

Thanks. I would really appreciate your opinion on the M when you give it a go.

Have you used the Weber or Tradere SB by chance?

I have the Titan handle... but it's attached to an H1, which is the only ATT version I've had the pleasure to try. It's a great handle. If you prefer larger handles, there's no downside to the Titan that I can see.

That's good new guys because I just ordered the Atlas R-1 today!

As I said I'm looking for a moderate closed comb that can handle 2-3 days of growth at a time.

I've never used the Weber or Tradere razors.
This morning I was a little rushed and I almost didn't shave, but ended up doing a quick two pass shave with the M-1 plate. It is quite a bit milder (for me) than using the R-1 plate; however, the quick two pass shave was remarkable, a DFS in record time! I do not like to rush my shaves, but with the M-1 it was rather nice.

I have used a Weber DLC, Tradere SB, Tradere OC, Titan M1, Titan R1, Titan, H1, Atlas M1, Atlas R1, and Atlas H1 (I think). I believe the Titan R1 is right down the alley of which you speak. The H1 head is much more aggressive, and the M1 head is mild. The Weber is milder than the R1, as is the Tradere SB. The Tradere OC would also be close to what you are looking for. Both are finely crafted tools made by wonderful vendors.

I have the Titan H1 and Atlas R1 But today I received my Titan With M1 Plate, I Haven't tried the M1 but i'm going to sometime next week as i have the flu and I'm a little under the weather this week. I have to say that the Titan H1 and R1 are both Excellent Shavers and for me are the Best Shavers Ever and No other Razors have Taken there place. I just hope the M1 Plate isn't to Mild, if its a little more aggressive then EJ89 It will be a keeper as well. I will have all 3 Titan Heads for every shaving Occasion :biggrin1:

Since I got my titan r1 I have used it often. I liked it so much
That I sold off all my other DE razors. Now I only have the
Titan and a gem open comb.

I am thinking about selling my gem open comb now since
I really think the titan r1 is my favorite.

Well i Tried the M1 and it was a bit to mild for me, Seems i get more Nicks and Irritation with Mild Razors Now :eek:/ and that never used to happen to me before, When i first started i could only use mild Razors and now i cant seems my skin has made some kind of adjustment ? Sounds Weird but true. aBecause of this Adjustment it now likes very aggresive Smooth Razors and not Blood Thirsty Razors like the R41 :scared:

The Titan H1 is my Holy Grail Shaving Razor, and The Titan R1 Is Doable for a Quick 2 Pass DFS for sure but a little Irritation and not as Smooth as the H1.

The M1 Plate With Either Titan or Atlas Handle Did Nothing for me, Gave me more irritation Nicks and left stubble's behind after 2 passes, My Hair grows Really Tight to the skin and Very Coarse Hair But not a Thick Beard, If that makes sense? So because of this Something as Aggressive as the Titan H1 Works like dream for me.. I sold the M1 Yesterday on BST ) Hope it finds a good Home )

These Above The Ties Razors have become my number one Recommendation to friends and Fellow Members, Followed By the Weber and EJ89. Love Em all..

Interesting. My adjustment to more aggressive razors is similar to yours. There was a time that I thought the 5 setting on my Slim was as aggressive as I could go. Now, it feels far too mild since I started shaving with the Atlas H1 every day. Based on your results, I suspect I don't really need the R1 plate either, because I get such comfortable, irritation-free shaves with the H1. That razor has become my Holy Grail, too. Total RAD killer. At least, until Stan introduces an H2, or a Titan-sized handle with the Atlas styling.

I don't have an ATT razor, but it's the only razor out right now that is seriously tempting me. My issue is I'd like the size of Titan handle with the knurling of the Atlas. I also would prefer the weight of the Atlas, but it's probably too short for my liking (same length as 34c/37c, right?). Bah. Anyway, my birthday is coming up....so we'll see :)

Or a slant...

The Atlas handle is 3", which I think is slightly longer than the 34c handle. Perhaps someone who still has one can confirm the exact length - I sold my 34c when I got my Atlas. The Titan handle is 3 1/2".

Stan's already gotten the hint about building a Titan-length handle with the Atlas styling, so we'll see what happens in the future. I would definitely buy one.

Had a slant. Didn't like it. Didn't get good shaves from it. I'm in the minority, I know. But I would never be tempted to buy another, even if made by Stan.

I tried to get your M1 on BST but just missed it...darn. Could you give me your impression of the Atlas M1 compared to the Weber Polished & EJ89. I have the Weber Polished and EJ89 which are my favorite 3 piece razors. I'm looking to satisfy my resurging RAD with an Atlas, but am undecided as to the M1 or R1 base plate. Your thoughts/impressions would be much appreciated.

To me the M1 Titan is very similar to the polished Weber, but more mild. Great shaver especially with a sharp blade.
