What's new

Anyone "pair" waht soap they use with what your gonna be doing or eating that day?

Sometimes I pair my shaving itmes for the day with what I'm gonna be having for dinner or what I'm gonna be doing. Almost like pairing a beer or wine with your dinner. If it's burgers and dogs and beers, I go for some classic American products like Old Spice soap and after shave or Aqua Vela and Williams. If I'm having Italian food, maybe some Italian products like proraso pre post, proraso soap and proraso splash or perhaps cella & floid blue. If I'm getting a haircut I go with Pinaud Clubman. If I'm going to hte beach I throw on some Bay Rum like im in the Islands.

Sometimes things just go better together.

I never thought of this, but I did notice two lathering agents that smelled strongly of foods that I found odd that could possibly work.

The first was a sample of Baxter of California's shave cream which I felt smelled like Junior Mints. It was a bit disconcerting since I wasn't sure if I should shave with it or eat it. I was then sent some Cedarwood Lemongrass shave soap from QueenCharlotteSoaps which really reminded me of Thai food... again the cognitive dissonance of smelling food while shaving.

I could use the Baxter before the movies, I suppose and the Lemongrass before some Thai.
