What's new

anyone notice the new **i kon shave craft head on sale?

he listed some of the new shave craft heads as a "blemish" pretty cheap it included both top and base. just curious if anyone has ordered one or tested it yet? im wondering what happened maybe the whole first run had some blemish because he doesnt have any full razors just the blem head and the shave craft handle.

I just tried to buy one, but the site said they don't ship to where I live. I've bought things from them before, so I guess they have changed their shipping policy. I like the look of this head and so I will have to wait till it makes its way to Phil at BullGoose.

just listed more its a awesome looking head and im tempted because my brother in law said he would buy one for use to test out so i dont lay out any cash. but the blemish ....i asked greg and he really would not say what the blemish was on it. so i wonder what it could be on a head. if anyone knows what the blemish is please chime in.

I'm not sure what the blemish is it could be a machining mark or maybe a little dent for me though its no big deal for the price im happy to buy one regardless of a blemish...

Any idea how these shave? Compared to something like a Cadet OC or New Improved which are the only OCs I have experience with?

These look pretty cool. We're not even sure what they're made of, yet. (I think they may be aluminum?)
They have something that looks like OC, or "hybrid comb" on one side, and the solid bar on the other; a variant on the OSS theme.

I've seen exactly one review, on another forum, from a while back. Must've been a test run.
I wonder how big a discount this was for the "blemished" version -- i.e., I wonder what full price will be.

my brother in law just went to order 2 of them and they are sold out again. stinks he was buying one for me lol. would have loved to test it out.

It's hard to tell. I would buy one for $25. My go-to is an ikon OC. Although not so interested in aluminum.

I'm not sure it is aluminum (don't want to start rumors). But I'm pretty sure it's not stainless, just from his ad copy and pricing. That may make it a handle-heavy razor. I like the 2013 iKon stainless razors a lot (OC and straight bar both), but I like, at least, the idea of a razor head that might not have the blade rust issues that stainless seems to.

So this discount is pretty steep. I hope the blemishes aren't anything particularly annoying!

Yes, I was really disappointed when I started having serious rust issues on all of the high-priced stainless steel razors I've bought. I never tried aluminium, but why not.

This weird and I am not doubting the rust issues but I have been using IKON OC stainless razor for 2 plus years and never had any rust issues. Even when I have left wet blades in it for a day or two.

My iKon OC has less of a problem than the Weber Polished or ATT. But it still has some rust stains that need to be scrubbed with a toothbrush, finally. Taking the blade out after shaving would solve the issue. I usually spritz with alcohol and that's enough, but... not recently, at least.
