What's new

Anyone know abything about this strop?

I bought it at a garage sale a while back, and when I went to search it online I wasn't able to find this specific model. Does anybody have any info and info on whether it's a good one.

It does have some minor cracking on near the bottom is it worth restoring or is it better to keep it original. Is there a way to lose the cracks without losing the makers marks?

I have never owned an Illinois Razor Strop Co strop nor restored a strop. Fromm owns the company. I would ask Fromm about the model:

Regarding restoration, I would watch this video:

Apparently, sanding a strop may result in residual grit that can harm razors. If I were to restore a strop, I would make every effort to thoroughly remove residual grit and then use a beater razor until you are confident that the grit is gone.
