Anyone Have Any Razors That Need Honing?

I am currently taking a break from buying razors. I miss honing. I have superb stones, but only use them for an occasional touch up. If any of you have a razor that needs honing, I will be happy to hone it for you. All I ask is for you to cover the shipping costs both ways. If you're wondering, the stones I would be using are: Chosera 1K for bevel set, Coticule from post 1K to pre finish, then your choice of finisher. Either my Y/G Escher, Charnley Forest, or Mizukihara J-Nat. Of course I would test the edge first to see where I would start from. If you want, I can make a YouTube video of me honing it. If you're interested, PM me.

Thanks!

5:30PM Wow, I got a good response out of this. 6 razors for me to hone. That will be my limit for now. I'm looking forward to putting killer edges on these razors.

Well, I wasn't even thinking of my seven day set (missing Thursday...a day I never even liked to begin with).

The razor is my 150 year old unmarked wedge. I honed it already, but I don't think I got the bevel set right and the shave was poor. Started all over today and after three hours, was finally getting close when I accidentally dropped something on the table I was using and it was just enough force to make my razor bounce up off of the dishtowel I'd rested it on and land, edge down, on table.

I just don't have the heart, and probably the skill, to start all over again. Here are pics, but it looks different know as it has something of a bevel:

He's called Il Primitivo .

EDIT:
I'mgoing to withdraw my challenge. I've been persuaded to man up and have another go at it. I've been beaten by old women, old houses, old goats and one or two old men, but never by an old razor. A line must be drawn.

If Il Primitivo beats you up again lemme know, I'll fix him good. By that I mean he'll have the ugliest bevel but he'll shave. :biggrin1:

I just wanted to thank Matt for honing a razor for me, it allowed me to taste the coticule edge and better compare against other types of hones!! Thanks, very much appreciated!

Run that wedge up and down a DMT and it will be right as rain. It will also have a huge bevel I think.

Did you ever get it up to par?
