Anyone a member of an online cigar club?

A friend of mine recently joined a wine club. With it came 15 bottles of wine. I was at her house the other day and took one, "you got 15 bottles of wine for 60 bucks!?...Well I'm taking one".

I told you that to tell you this....

So I'm sitting here chugging the bottle :a54:(ha! slowly sipping) and was thinking "maybe I should join a wine club?" but then I thought "nahh I don't enjoy wine nearly as much as I enjoy cigars"

So to google I went. Seems to be quite a few cigar clubs out there. I'm curious if any of us here are members of any such clubs?

What are the good ones?

In your experience what are the pros and cons of joining a cigar club?

I found this one which looks like a good deal. $30 per month for 5 cigars.

I'm seeking the pros advice here :thumbup1:

It's a fine way to try try new stuff if you don't know what you want, but once you know what you like you can get twice or even four times as many cigars from the various daily deal sites for the same amount of money and know what your getting instead of being surprised.

What are these "daily deal" sites? or do you mean the general online cigar shop that runs daily deals?

I have a general idea of what I like based off cigars I've sampled in the past; Acid, Punch, Rocky Patel, Oliva....relatively inexpensive cigars.

I was just thinking that this would be a good way to stock my humidor while sampling new cigars

Many years ago I was in a cigar program, where I received 5 cigars a month. I can't remember the name of the program, however. Interesting for a while, as I got to try many different smokes, including some I would be unlikely to buy in a B&M store. For the period of time I belonged (6 months, maybe 1 year) it was fine. But I had no interest in continuing. Most of the cigars they sent really weren't for me and I ended up finding very few I wanted to actually buy more of. At that time I didn't really have a defined style/profile--or at least didn't know I had one. By the end of the program I was giving away as many of the cigars I received as I was smoking.

I still experiment and try new stuff all the time. But I do so with a bit more information than simply having them sent to me by a program. Plus my local guy knows my tastes, so he is an excellent referer for new smokes.

I'm guessing there are better, more focused options available now. Perhaps you could tailor the program to your tastes.

I also belonged to a wine program, but it was from one winery. So the experience here was much better for me.
