What's new

Anybody have a wee Scot...

After reading a lot of great comments here, I bought one as my travel brush. It was much smaller than I expected and didn't think I would much like it. After its first use, it was clear that this brush could punch beyond its weight class. Since then, I still use it when I travel, but it has found a regular spot in my rotation. I also liked how well the Simpson best worked with soaps that I have since purchased another Simpson (the Eagle G3 in Best).

This is a very small brush and is considered to be more of a collectors' item. [/url]

Not necessarily true. I use the Wee Scot in my ration and when I travel and find it to be a fantastic brush. I always delivers the perfect amount of lather exactly where I want it.

This is a very small brush and is considered to be more of a collectors' item. If you want one brushes for traveling I can recommend you Simpson Major Best, you can see both of them (and many others) and read the description on our website www.lexoredge.com

I definitely do not consider the Wee to be a collectors item but a front line brush in my weekly rotation.

I was convinced to buy it from Gary at ShoeBox and at first thought it would be a super travel brush...but while it is a super travel brush it also has found a place in my weekly rotation of brushes.

It is way way more than a novelty...it is a grand brush.

I was so impressed by it that I put up a review for it....

well..lets put this way..The Wee was my first Simpson, and it opened my appetite for more simpson brushes. I'm on my 5th Simpson now :blushing:

Wee Scot
Special
Emperor 1
Tulip 1
Eagle 3 Best

The Wee is a pleasure to use!

I just ordered one; I couldn't stand it anymore. It's too cute for words, and it seems to work well too. I have the Chubby 2 in best, and this will fill a different niche.

Also my first Simpson...followed later by a Duke 1. Wee Scot is a gateway drug brush.

Also got it as a travel brush, but use it at home for touch-up shaves later in the day, or just when I feel like it! Performs far beyond its size would lead you to believe possible. Not a novelty item at all.

(And yeah, it is unbearably cute.) :001_rolle

I use one most of the time. I also have a Rooney and Vulfix , which are also very fine brushes. The Wee Scot is a very efficient latherer and feels wonderful. When I bought mine , I told my wife that I left the other two brushes together one night and the Wee Scoot appeared the next morning. I also find it very comfortable to hold. I am 6'5" and it is not too small for me.

Got it as a travel brush. Haven't really used it for that purpose yet, though. It's of a good high quality, and not too small for me.

I love mine. Got it initially just as a novelty to have the smallest brush. Bought a 30mm Shavemac at the same time to have both the huge and the tiny. The Shavemac gets used very rarely when I want the "full spa treatment." The Wee Scot, by contrast, is a regular go-to, especially for face-lathering soap sticks. It holds a deceptive amount of lather and gives it up readily. Can't beat it for back bone and scrubby precision. It also introduced me to the Colonel.....:001_rolle

Same here.

I bought a Wee Scot after all the rumour around the brand.
It is a remarkable brush, able to perform way beyond its small size.

And yes, it started a Simpson frenzy.
Duke 3, 56 Berkeley and recently the Eagle G3.

I forgot to answer the OP's question. I first saw the WS on a shaving website, couldn't find much on B&B about it, so I bought one on a recommendation from ambrose (Jose).

Just a great brush the Wee Scot. It might be a bit too small for my fingers sometimes to use, but I love seeing it amongst my other brushes and always brings a smile. I bought it pretty much considering it would be just for a display piece, but that didn't last long, and really flamed my desire for Simpson brushes. The Wee Scot started Simpsonitis for me, as I see it has for many others.

I got mine on a whim and a 20% discount from TH. When I received it I said to myself, 'this is a joke'. Than I used it. What a suprise. I don't use it regularly because I do have large hands and it is small. But I do use it often for a change of pace. What fun. Every one should have one just for the joy it brings to an every day task.:biggrin1:

The Wee Scot was my first Simpson brush also--not as a novelty but by design. It only comes in Simpson's outstanding best badger, so it gave me a relatively inexpensive way to see for myself what all the shouting was about.

I prefer short loft brushes with good backbone, so I saw the 14mm knot by 37mm loft to be a very favorable ratio for my purposes. Despite the small dimensions, this little dynamo is densely filled (by hand, I might add). I find it has enough holding power to give me a couple of good passes, but I for one have no problem going back to my lather bowl and scooping up the remains if my needs warrant it. This is a very nice little brush with multiple talents.

Best of all, even if you choose not to use the Wee Scot as a normal part of your rotation, you have an outstanding travel brush that doesn't hog much kit space and is a great conversation piece anywhere your journeys might take you. Just this afternoon, I stopped by the pharmacy window at my local supermarket and asked the clerk if I might have a spare plastic pill bottle with a plastic cap. They've got hundreds of them, and were more than happy to toss me one (it's 1 1/4" by 3 1/8"). I cut some ventilation slats in the lid with a SE razor blade and I now have an outstanding protective travel tube for my brush.

Lastly, if you did acquire a Wee Scot and just flat out decided it wasn't for you, it won't last long should you decide to sell or trade it on the BST forum. Two thumbs up for the Wee Scot--and in my book the Simpson brushes in general.
