Any suggestions for cigar samplers?

Hello Gentlemen,

I recently have purchased a humidor and am waiting for it's delivery so I can start the seasoning process. In my anticipation, I have been looking for a sampler pack to help start my collection and expand my experiences. Currently I have been on a flavored (infused is the term I think?) cigars. Earth Supernatural by Cojimar, CAO & Acids. I enjoy mild cigars with a smooth smoke. Nothing full bodied, yet. Any suggestions for a sampler pack or even just a single cigar?

Also, if you have any online retailers that you utilize for your smokes I would appreciate the info.

Thanks everyone. I can always rely on B&B for some of the best info and opinions

I've just gotten back into this stinking hobby, and samplers are the only thing I've done so far. I started with the $30 humidor/sampler deal with Cigar.com, and then got another 6x54 sampler from Cigars International. Most of them I haven't liked. But what I've started doing from now on is using the "Build Your Own Custom" sampler on Cigar.com. You can choose 10 single cigars from a list of around 100 or so for around $40. Some of the stuff is junk, but sometimes they have real premium brands on there. I tend to prefer Cigar.com's pre-made samplers over CI's. Too many Diesels and 5 Vegas and Gurhkhas in the CI samplers. If you want my recommended cigars for a custom sampler just PM me and I'll tell you the one's I've liked best so far...and which ones I haven't. I can also tell you (secretly) about one way you can get a LOT of cigars and pay nothing--all perfectly legal.

Cigarsinternational has a club with options. Take a look. Lots of good stuff there. Shipping is quick too. I've ordered from them 3-5 times.

You mean they have a custom sampler builder? Can you tell me where it is on their site? I've never seen it there. Would love to see what their selection is.

Find a good cigar store and go talk to the proprietor. Tell him (or her) what you're after and they'll steer you in the right direction. After all, they want a repeat customer.

Also join a cigar forum (I like cigarasylum) and get in on some newbie PIFs. A great way to be able to try a bunch of different cigars.

I also like the Kuba Kuba from Acid, which I'm sure you've had. Try a Sancho Panza Double Maduro. It's very smooth and mild.. Made from Ligero. This dark maduro wrapper is extra smooth, not full bodied. Great cigar and it's inexpensive. The ash burns very white and long.

You should also try a Macanudo.. light cigars. Go to the cigar shop..

first off, you do not want to store infused cigars and non-infused cigars in the same humi. In fact, once you have stored infused cigars in a humi, that is about all you will want to store in that humi. the infused flavors will infuse the wood and other cigars.

As to samplers, build your own out of 5 packs.
I've never been into the infused cigars, so no advice there, but some non-infused cigars to consider:
CAO Black
5 Vegas "A"
Arturo Fuente
CAO Brazilia
La Riqueza
Tatuaje VI

If you want to try some higher-end (and more expensive cigars):
AF Hemingway
AF Don Carlos
Drew Estates Liga Privada #9
Tatuaje Miami

I would recommend picking up 5 packs rather than singles. Smoking the same cigar more than once will give you a better idea of the cigar. A lot of variables can affect how enjoyable a particular cigar is. Give each one more than one shot.

Good luck and enjoy!
