Any role for a scuttle for a face latheter?

I use my scuttle to keep the brush warm between passes. For this, the smaller the scuttle, the better.

Me too. I also swirl my puck over it to catch all the drippings. Keeps my brush nice and warm and is great for soaking the brush and getting it nice and warm for pass one as well as pass 2 & 3

I use a DB 1.5

So yes, I find my useful. Not necessary, but is nice to have

I use my scuttle as a dedicated 'brush-scuttle' these days, so there most certainly is a role for a scuttle IMHO
Also take into consideration, that your scuttle/bowl is handy when you need to break in or massage some conditioner into your brushes - and they still look good to my eyes, these scuttles :001_wub:

I have a medium sized one, that I'm quite glad for:

Grab a gravy warmer from Cost Plus, it works great as a brush scuttle and it's cheap.

I just saw one of these in the store yesterday and thought "Hey, that would work as a scuttle, I'm going to try it and see if I like it". Tried it twice since then, and I think it will come in very handy this winter.
It has replaced the teacup I used to soak my brush in but not my lather bowl, as it is too small. It does keep the lather warm though, and for only 8$.

I have a regular scuttle (DB 1.5) and a custom brush scuttle I use when face-lathering. Once it gets cold out, I use one or the other for every shave.

I had the travelling scuttle a few weeks ago and my take on it was that it was too large for a brush scuttle, but a smaller one would make a dandy brush warmer. The gravy warmer from Cost Plus if whiteware works for your decor.

Before heading off to buy a brush scuttle I think that I'm going to try sinking a milk glass or ceramic coffee mug in a sink of hot water each morning while I shave. Last spring I was bowl lathering in a cereal bowl which I would float in the sink between passes. The warm lather is good. I'm thinking that if I can just keep a loaded brush warm things will be even better.

+1, except i don't have a scuttle i just use a large mug for bowl lathering. When i face lather i keep the mug partially submerged in my sink with the brush in it.
