Any one use a Thistle straight razor?

I received a Thistle straight that I need to hone. I don't have any information about the brand. Anyone use one or have any info?

There are several versions of Thistle razors. Fortunately they all seem to have good reputations as shavers.
Several reference works state that Thistle Cutlery Company were wholesalers (not manufacturers) of fine quality shears, knives and razors.
According to some references they were located in New York and in business from 1890 - 1917.
However there is a 1920 catalog that shows Thistle Cutlery Co., NY, knives for sale. In addition, the company was located in Fremont, Ohio at some point in the 1920s. Another reference work states that the name was acquired by Clauss-Henkel (not J. A. Henckels) and the Fremont, Ohio razors were manufactured by Clauss.
There are also Thistle Cutlery Co. razors that were made in Germany. These were made for Thistle by Ern, Boker, A. Kastor & Bros. (Germania Cutlery) and possibly others.
There was also a Thistle Razor Company based in Germany and probably owned by A. Kastor & Bros.
Confused yet?

I've had two and both took and held a nice edge. They have the look and feel of German quality.
