I was looking at my Merkur open comb this evening and this thought occurred to me. Could I put two blades in there? I mean not for that more blades equal a better shave nonsense but for the second blade to act as a shunt to increase the opening? Perhaps that's just crazy talk? Or maybe some one else already thought of this?
Any one try this?

I sometimes use a second blade with the edges cut off as a shim, but I've never tried two full blades.
It's called shimming... U cut off the sharp edges of the blade and stick it under the blade...

hahaha not one of my better ideas then.
Never tried this, but on another note, ey up to a fellow yorkshireman.
Why not just get a more aggressive razor like the R41? Then keep what you've got in your rotation.
