Picked this up for a few bucks today. Only marking is Made in USA on baseplate. It's old and has seen use but isn't in bad shape. Heavily weighted to the handle end. Anyone have any info on maker, etc? Thanks.

Looks like Gillette Old Type with a unknown handle. I'm not recognizing the handle right away but it's probably a special variation/modification.
It looks to me like a copy of a thin cap Old Type, I think. What I see most obvious is the cap and base dont appear to mate together as well as they should.
I have a made in England Old Type copy.
Notice the airspace between the base and cap and also where the blade is clamped to the base with the edge of the cap.
Compared to a 1916 Gillette Single Ring.
And a made in Canada thick cap Old Type.
The Gillette razors caps and bases should mate together perfectly. The copies are another matter.
Despite the geometry of my Brit copy, its one of my most favorite DE's.
As to brand, maker or age I have no idea.
