Any Experience With SharpeningSupplies.com Water Stones

For years I've relied on a 1k, 5k, 8k and 12k Naniwa progression and gotten excellent results. I noticed that SharpeningSupplies.com has a line of water stones made in the USA. The 8" XL are available in nine grits, from 220k to 10k. The idea of USA made water stones interests me. Does anyone have any experience with these stones?

I can almost promise you that they will not be an improvement over your Nanny progression. Naniwa is nearly unbeatable for reasonably priced synthetic stones. Can't say I know the first thing about the SharpeningSupplies stones, but with a Nanny set already bought and paid for, I wouldn't be curious enough to pull the trigger. If anything, for an improvement, try films and balsa as per The Method. Unless you are itching to try naturals. Now if your 1k is a SuperStone, you might want to try a Chosera for bevel setting. Everybody who has tried the 1k Chosera and the 1k Superstone seems to prefer the Chosera.
