Any dads get a surprise pen for Father's Day?

Just wondering. I'm still cooling my jets after the Edison LE Herald Grande pen.

No, but I played cars with my 2 year old grandson, so it all worked out in the end. I can buy pens, I can't buy love.

Pens are off limits for purchase as gifts.
I did however get a "World's Best Dad" t-shirt.

I did wear it and I got lots of hugs.
A great day all around.

I got one of those too. On the front it says New York with the Yankee symbol, on the back dad #1. I love it! No pens though, no surprise either.

No pens but I got some Noodlers Ottoman Rose along with tons of hugs.
Apparently my passion for things to do with fountain pens, is being noticed.

Yes! Stipula Passaporto, Baltimore Blue Harbor Edition. I'm a lucky dad!

One of my daughters bought me an Art Deco-era mechanical pencil that she found searching antique stores in Philly. All I have is a photo of it now because she sent it off to someone to be rehabbed. It looks pretty cool--can't wait for it to show up.

Got home Sat. night to find a notice of attempted delivery. Pretty sure it's my father's pens back from getting rehabbed. I'll find out tonight!

My daughter gave me back my Shakespear pen....to refill it for her.
She made me a book of poems, and a giant hand print art thing. And the other daughter made me a card and a bunch of drawings.
Seriously, I teared up. So sweet. I have a GIANT box of all that kind of stuff and when I have a really crappy day I go through it.

True dat. I've never been big on the whole "presents for father's day" idea ... neither has my father ... so as long as we get to all do something enjoyable together (which we did) all is good.

Last week was technician appreciation week, and I won a video camera. So, I also get video of him "beating" me up. If I am sitting in my chair, he will grab my shirt and drag me to the floor (okay, I help him out a bit). He loves to wrestle, and his dumb *** father won't play with him very much like that. Oh well, if he has the choice between coming to me or his father, he will pick me every time. My son-in-law needs a good kick in the 'nads, because he doesn't realize that this time passes much too quickly, and once it is gone it can't be brought back. Okay, rant off.

My boys gave me a clear TWSBI 540 with a bottle of J. Herbin 1760 ink and a bottle of Pilot Kon-Peki. It was a nice gift, but the true present was watching their faces (6 yrs. and 3 yrs.) as the beautiful blue ink filled the pen. They watched as the piston drew in the ink and then they rocked the pen back and forth just to watch the air bubble trapped inside slip from end to end. It was a good day.

Great way to start them out young!
