Any advice on waiting on delivery from USPS

Hi guys

On the 22nd of last month I bought a 54' Superspeed on E-bay. When I put the tracking number into the website it says "Despatched to sort facility" on the 23rd, so the seller done his bit in good time.

However, the site is still giving me the same info, has not changed a bit. It's three weeks now and I would have expected it to arrive by now.

However, I live in Ireland, and because I do not have a Zipcode to enter on the form it will not let me send them a message. Also the 1800 number they have does not accept phone calls from outside the US.

I e-mailed the seller, and he offered me a refund, no problem. Except I really really don't want a refund, I was happy with my purchase. And I don't actually mind the waiting "if" I know it will arrive eventually. But what if it's lost

Has anyone any experience with this sort of stuff? The tracking number is LK001927330US,

Am I over re-acting?lol.

You aren't going to get any sort of reliable tracking information for a package shipped via first class international. That said, I always ship with that method and have never had it take that long. Did the seller fill out all the customs information?

I don't actually know. He has 100% positive feedback, and he says he sent a few packages to Ireland and never lost one of them. I am probably just impatient, as always.
I will probably try stop thinking about it, like just put it out of my head, give it this week and next week.
Like the old saying "A watched kettle never boils",lol.

I don't have any experience shipping across the pond, other than receiving items from VintageScent and Connaught. In both instances, they show when it has left the country but then I receive nothing on this end until it arrives. Usually 14 days or so.

Why I responded was just last week, I ordered something from WCS and the tracking showed it had left their facility. For 2 days, nothing updated. Then on the 3rd day, it arrived. The reporting system on USPS is far from stable and quite unreliable actually. I hope this is what you are dealing with and your package shows up soon. I'd give it a month from date of purchase, and then I would actively pursue what other options I may have. You may want to check with your payment vendor (PayPal?) and ensure you don't have a time-frame where you need to act. Good Luck sir!

In the meantime, jump in your car and go play a round of golf at Ballybunion or Old Head. Then grab a pint!

I had in the past ordered fountain pens from Martini auctions, in Germany and with standard shipping had them in 3-5 days. THe last one took 4 weeks, hung up in customs in NY>

International has little to do with it... I can't get tracking on domestic packages shipped USPS.
I always get tracking numbers, but it's two entries... shipped and delivered.

I would assume that in the event a package is actually lost, USPS would be able to use the tracking number to locate it, but it is not updated on the web the way UPS and FedEx are.

And even with UPS, ground shipments do not show any tracking information while in transit unless they are actually removed from the truck and moved through a sort facility.

I would take the refund.....then....if you are an honest guy (which it sounds like you are) you can send the money back to him if/when it finally arrives.

The thought crossed my mind to do that, then I rang my local post office today, and the guy told me that the way it works is, when the seller posted it, it gets sent to shipping container, which must be full before it is shipped, so if it was one of the first items to go in, it could take a while. He said unless it was urgent to just try forget about it until it arrives.

I'll just hang tight. Stick to my tech and my R41 for the time being Could be worse eh?
