Anti-tarnish silver cloth: anybody use it?

This stuff is fairly popular in high end kitchen design when clients want to keep their silverware from tarnishing. You can specify a special drawer insert with a cover flap that rests over the utensils and keeps tarnish away.

I thought of it because last night I noticed my silver Tuckaway set along with some of my other silver sets is starting to tarnish again. I guess for those of you who like to periodically pull out your razors and polish them, it isn't a problem. I personally don't like the idea of polishing more than I have to though. I'm always afraid I'm going to make the fatal rub that exposes brass.

Although Silver is softer than Nickel or Chrome - it does wear well, so the odd polish shouldn't harm the plating, especially if you use a gentle polishing cloth. Steer clear of polishes like Brasso - which are quite abrasive.

Silver will tarnish if not used - I've never come across these anti-tarnish cloths though.

Can not find it, but I remember someone posting a pic or two with some classy black razor size bags they had custom made just for that.

My GF and her mother use the cloths all the time on their silver jewlery. I haven't paid attention to see if it does any good but they seem to be happy with the results. Hope that helps.

My wife uses it. She also found it available on bolt in a fabric store and custom made some bags for items that she could not find appropriate coverings for commercially.

Wow, I learn something new every day. 3M apparently makes paper strips that prevent tarnish for up to a year. I bet if I kept one in my razor case with my #77, it would work well.
