Another use for badger.

Wonder what part of the badger this came from? :biggrin1:

I may have to write the manufacturer to complain. There appears to be no badger in the product whatsoever. From http://www.badgerbalm.com/p-14-badger-balm.aspx

Ingredients: *Olea Europaea (Extra Virgin Olive) Oil, *Cera Alba (Beeswax), *Ricinus Communis (Castor) Oil, *Aloe Barbadensis (Aloe) Extract, and Essential Oils of Betula Lenta (Birch) and *Gaultheria Procumbens (Wintergreen).

Here is their story:

I was going to call that first product "Bear Paw", but the name was already taken! At first I was disappointed. Then the name "Badger" came to me, as if in a dream, and I knew it was the right choice. The Badger is a healing totem: The Root Gatherer, with a deep knowledge of the secrets of the root and herb kingdoms; fierce and effective in defense of the self and family and persistent in overcoming obstacles, successfully seeing projects through to the end.

Ha! It might seem like a strange name for a balm but guess what; there's a particular type of feather named 'badger' by fly tyers. It is a hackle or saddle feather (yes, Virginia there is a part of a rooster called a saddle and no you can't ride one) that has a black center followed by white outlined in black, a coloration similar to a badger's pelt. Sorry, no picture at this point so go ahead and dog me.
