Imo, his lather looks a little thin and I dont like the way he takes such long strokes and rarely rinses the blade

He's really adamant about not using a brush in circles. Only paintbrush style. Anyone else think using a circular motion can lead to a shedding problem? I personally have no idea, since I've only been at this a little over a year.

I have ALWAYS been taught to use circular motions as it prepares the beard for the shave better. Then only use painting strokes to evenly distribute the lather over the area before reaching for the razor.

That Gentleman's Shop is a great place. Went there a few years ago and spent far too much money!

The length of his strokes are much the same as I take to be honest. I face lather though but like him, I don't go for the face full of meringue look!
