This is a picture of my grandfathers Blue Diamond Hone - it does not say "American" on it. He was a shoemaker from Hungary and came to the US in 1908 or thereabouts. He had a shoe shop in NJ up until his death in 1949. I use this hone to put the edge on my wood chisels before I go to the leather strop it does a fine job. I just resurfaced it using a diamond plate. The diamond plate that I used to resurface this hone cut it fairly quickly compared to me resurfacing my Smith stones.
