Alternatives to QED ASBs?

i really like the thick QED ASBs like bay rum and lime, and am disappointed that charles will no longer offer them.

does anyone have suggestions for products that are similar?

Not *quite* as thick, but the balms from SCS are certainly worth a look. Similar price range, not quite as strongly scented, but close, and nicely protective. I have her "Dagger" scented balm, and find that it works well for me on cold/dry days (I'm a splash guy otherwise). Proraso balm is great in the protection department, too, but if it's thickness you want, you'll be disappointed. The "Signature" balm from Gentlemen's Best would also be a good option -- fantastic scent, and again, nicely protective.

thanks for the suggestions -- i've ordered some SCS samples.

the problem with trying out a lot of this stuff is lack of sample size availability, shipping costs, etc.

Castle-Forbes ASB's are rich, very lush. Magnificent. If you can find them, indulge yourself. Recommended.

I got a sample of the "spiced rum" ASB from Krissy at Prairie Creations. It's nice and goopy, and moisturizes like the dickens.

Prairie Creations balm is pretty thick. I can't directly compare it to QED's as I never tried Charles' AS. The Prairie Creations AS absorbs quickly and works well. Check Krissy's site to see if she offers samples.

i got some SCS samples. definitely a couple of winners there, but none as thick as i would like. will keep on the hunt ...
