Alternative Blade Suggestions

I'm currently using the Gillette Swedish Blades... but I am looking for an alternate blade - that would give me a similar shave.

I don't shave every day... so the blade is encountering several days of growth... and what I appreciate about the GS blade is the quality of their sharpness and the ability to give me a smooth clean shave in the face of sensitive skin.

I had been using the Derby's as an alternate blade. They started out fine, but after a year and a half of wet shaving, they are proving to be less satisfactory - with some pull and drag on the hairs even when my strokes are short. They no longer feel sharp enough.

I'm tapping on the experience of others who have found a close match to the Gillette Swedish. Recommendations on the experience of others is very appreciated.

Gillette 7 o'clock yellow seem to fit the description perfectly. Very sharp and very smooth. Many users here say the same about Iridium blades, I find them less forgiving than the Gillettes.

Sharp, smooth and comfortable blades.
This is an excellent choice.
Truly.

The Gillette 7 yellows are a very sharp and smooth blade. A little grade above most other blades. I use Astra's and Shark's because the provide a good smooth, sharp shave for me. The Gillette's are a little better but not worth the additional cost for me.

I get a pretty comparable shave quality wise from Wilkinson Swords. However they only tend to last me 1-2 shaves before becoming uncomfortable.

I have not found a current production blade that is as smooth. The Feather is sharper, for sure. Iridiums do come the closest, perhaps.

Look for packs of the Gillette Spoiler--NOS blades, but still cheaper than Swedes. They come up now and then. They shave about the same, tho I think the Swede is a touch smoother (not by much).

I used the Swedes exclusively for awhile. Iridiums are what you want, they're the closest thing I've found. 7 O'clock sharp edge (yellow pack) are also quite good but I like the Iridiums more...they seem just a little smoother on the skin.

if you don't like the yellows i've found the gillettes that come in the black box to be even sharper and smoother. you might also want to try some of the lord blades they make a few that work very well for the price.

+1 for the Black 7 O'Clocks. I also suggest Shark Super Chromes, which are almost as good.
