Thanks to all of your suggestions on my recent blade post of upgrading from Personna Reds, I decided to give Gillette 7'Oclock Yellows and Astras a try. I just tried the 7 O'clocks today in my EJ razor. This was by far my closest shave - DFS to BBS everywhere. This blade is truly smooth gliding, in fact so smooth that it's sharpness is deceiving. I was almost done shaving, feeling excited and extremely pleased and the trouble happened while shaving my chin. The shave was going so well that I became cocky, moving faster and using a "Personna Reds" technique. A BIG cut when going ATG on the left side of my chin that was a real bleeder. I don't blame this on the blade. As I mentioned before, the smoothness of a 7 O'clock deceives you into thinking it's not all that sharp. Well it is!! In fact, it's so sharp (especially compared to a Red) that I think some areas can be shaved with just 2 passes. I'm going to respect this blade and adjust my technique accordingly. I haven't received the Astras yet and will try them, but at this point it looks like the 7 O'Clocks might become my "go to" blades.
