I'm sorry to have to admit but my membership in the A.O.M is currently in recess... I lent my 33C to a mate and the last I heard he is holding onto it.. He lent me the Merkur bakelite (45C) but I just don't seem to be able to get along with it.

Any owners of the 34G having trouble with the gold finish over time? One review on an online retailers site states that the gold was wearing off after four shaves. He claims to have contacted the manufacturer and was told that two years ago (2015) some razors left the factory without enough of some chemical but has since received a new one with no problems.

I have a Merkur question, and this seems to be the best place to ask it. What are the numbers on the plate and base of a 34C HD referencing?
This has been asked before, but there didn't seem to be a definitive answer.

Here's how to join, it's easy-

You must:

1. Own at least one Merkur Razor

This is my daily razor.
Curious about the 37C.
2. Use a Merkur razor at least once weekly.

To join, just respond to this thread saying "I dig Merkurs, I'm joining" along with a photo of your Merkur razor(s)


All we ask is that you put "AOM" or "Alliance of Merkur" in your signature
