Agua Lavanda Puig: Found

It seems like it's getting hard to find Agua Lavanda Puig in anything other than the body splash. I had a little bit left in a 100 ml bottle that I bought from an Amazon vendor, but I had resigned myself to running out.

The other day, I was looking around on La Tienda's website, thinking about how good a $700 ham must taste, when I noticed that they had Agua Lavanda Puig back in stock. I ordered the 200 ml on Sunday and it came today. And you know what? I think that the fragrance is a little bit stronger than the juice that I got in the 100 ml bottle. Maybe the little bottle was already old when I got it, or maybe it had been stored somewhere hot. Or maybe I radiate self-deception.

Here's a link--La Tienda has lots of other great stuff too:

"Got Shoes?"
Thanks for that. I finished a small bottle of Agua Lavanda Puig cologne and about half way through a large bottle. I also have a big bottle of the splash which I use occasionally. I have never used the splash as an aftershave although they recommend it. Has anyone used it as an aftershave?

Couple of questions if you don't mind:

1) Is the scent a sweet or a crisp/clean lavender? I like Trumpers lavender water but the longevity is on an hour or two;

2) how's the longevity?; and

3) I couldn't tell by the website, is the small bottle a splash or spray?

Thanks

My experience:

1) I find it to be crisp/clean/woody

2) Longevity is not great. A couple of hours and I might get a hint of it. (Atkinson's English Lavender has better longevity, imo)

3) Both large and small bottles are splash bottles.

No, it's not a basic lavender water. In fact, I suppose that it's really like a sketch of what makes up a light fougere. Here are the notes that are most often listed:

Agua Lavanda has top notes of Lavender, Bergamot, Rosemary, and Petitgrain, and middle notes of Geranium and Clary Sage, and base notes of Must, Cedarwood, Tonka Bean, and Moss.

The lavender and bergamot smell great when you splash it on, and it has a very warm, pleasant drydown. Not a strong fragrance by any means--lasts a couple of hours on me in warm weather.

It also comes in a very nice, heavy green glass bottle. If you're already missing the heft of an Aqua Velva bottle, you'll love this.

Definately on my list of lavenders to try, can't go wrong for $15. Other Lavenders I would like to try are Harris Old English Lavender Water and Atkinsons English Lavender.

All three are worth checking out. I'm more partial to the Harris, but the Puig is a classic in its own right, and like you say, for $15, you really can't go wrong.

yeah the lavender is accented beautifully by a bit of sweetness from the tonka and a generous array of greens and spices. it's really amazing stuff. I like it better than Quorum by a mile. and the glass bottle makes Aqua Velva's recent switch to plastic not seem so bad after all :biggrin1:

I just pulled the trigger on the small bottle. I've been circling around it for a while, but this threat finally pushed me over the edge!

I think the plastic bath container is more diluted than the green glass bottles,do a side by side test and you will see ! I got my 2 large glass bottles yesterday from la tienda...

I used this stuff every day in the 70's & 80's but it seemed that they cheapened it and watered it down so much that the scent was gone as soon as you put the cap on the bottle. I wish they would bring back the original strength stuff like it came in the wicker bottle!

Are you saying that even the stuff in the green glass bottle is that weak? That's not my experience. However the stuff in the plastic jug burns off pretty quick.
