Aftershave splash in winter

Hey guys, here's an interesting one for you. I've been DE shaving for over two years now and have always used a balm since I started shaving nearly twenty years ago until the start of this summer when I tried using an alchol splash. Even with DE shaving I only shaved every other day but since I started using an alchol splash I shaved every day, no problems. Now in winter I decided I needed to go back to a balm, not that my skin was dry as such it just seemed the right thing to do. Straight away shaving every day started to give me problems using the balm, skin seemed abit more sensitive or something, so for the last week went back to the splash and shaving every day no problems. I have most of the best aftershave splashs mentioned here on this great site, ( speick, prorasso, floids, harris sandelwood etc, ) so I guess I'm a splash guy after all.

Amen to alcohol. What I like about winter is that it gives a great excuse to use my Pashana frequently.

Have you ever tried the Tabac balm? It might me the best of both worlds for you; it is a proper balm but with 22% alcohol in there. And a good cold weather scent at that! :thumbup1:

Thanks for the suggestion tailbeard, I've got the tabac soap and splash so I guess why not try the balm :001_smile

Glad it's working for you. Besides DRH Sandalwood and Pashana, I'm getting lots of warm feelings out of AV Musk and English Leather as well. Bay Rums are also very good for cool weather.

I found Musgo to be a great winter splash. Definitely worth a try. Moisturizes better than some of my balms.
