Hello all.
I'm new to both wet shaving and to B&B, and I have a question. I've been enjoying DE wet shaving for a couple of weeks now, and, since my face tends to dry skin, I've been using Nivea sensitive aftershave balm every day. For the most part it seems to work great, but I've also noticed that parts of my face which ARE NOT part of my shave area (the upper cheeks particularly) have been getting really dry since I started wet shaving. I end up using a little Lubriderm Advanced Therapy lotion for extra dry skin and that seems to take care of the problem until the next day. Again, the portions of my face that I'm shaving are perfectly fine (unless I fumble my technique!).
My question is, if I'm having to use the Lubriderm anyway, does the Nivea balm give me anything that the lotion doesn't? Put another way, what is the thinking/experience with using moisturizing lotion as an after-shave balm, rather than anything else?
Thanks!
