Hi Folks, I'm looking for some good pointers for a new brush.
I currently own 2 brushes. One is an Edwin Jagger Super Badger in large (23mm knot). This was my 1st brush and I would probably be perfectly happy with it if it hadn't been for the arrival of my 2nd brush. It is a Truefitt & Hill branded Rooney 3/1 in super.
Now that I have a comparison, I am finding my EJ too soft for my liking. I tend to start my lather in a bowl and finish off on my face. I love the bit of scritch I get from the Rooney but I'm worried it will end up as soft as my EJ (I've only used the Rooney about a dozen times).
Is there a brush type that will retain that scritchyness over time? Is a boar the way to go? Do I need to move down a grade of Badger from super to Best?
My limited research so far has led me to the Vulfix 404 Grosvenor in mixed boar/badger. Would this do the trick?
For the budget, I'd like to stay below $50.
Any help greatly appreciated.
