Been looking at restore threads and just went through the process of buying a custom set silvertip from whipped dog. There's a lot of thought that goes into depth a knot is set at.
Since I have no less than 4 adjustable razors I got to thinking ...why can't brushes be adjustable? I got this idea while looking at my vulfix turnback.
What if the brush were made of several assemblies?
knot "carrier" (small disposable part that the knot is epoxied onto, attaches to the inner sleeve)
inner sleeve
handle
The inner sleeve and handle would work together to set the knot at different depths. If designed clever enough the depth could be changed between loading + lather building. One could have multiple knots epoxied to an inexpensive "carrier" part and try different knots with the handle.
Have I been drinking too much beer tonight?
