Adding Menthol

I have some alcohol free thayers which I would like to add some menthol crystals to. Since the thayers doesn't have any alcohol it wont dissolve the crystals.

Would the proper way to dissolve the crystals in rubbing alcohol then add the solution to my thayers?

I've done this but used a couple teaspoons of vodka then added the whole thing to Nivea balm once the menthol has dissolved.

what if one were to add peppermint extract/oil? would that work as well?

You can buy it already liquified at Mama Bears. I bought a jar a while back and it goes a really long way.

If the menthol is not soluble in water it will probably crash out of solution as soon as you add the alcohol to the Thayers WH.
