Adding essential oils to creams

doctordial

my brain goes "thonk"
Hello all

I have a .25 sample of Cella taken from the brick. It has a very light smell and I was wondering could I add some sweet almond essential oil to it to brighten it up?:001_unsur

You can scent soap Italian-style soaps in the manner you describe. I do it all the time with my home-made "croaps". Just add a drop or two of essential oil and kneed it into the soap. Just note though that most almond oils don't actually smell of almonds. Almond scent is extracted from bitter almonds but for industrial use is more commonly synthesized in the form of benhalzdehyde. If you have a little bottle of oil which strongly smells of almonds, this is much more likely to be a benhalzdehyde-based synthetic fragrance oil rather than an essential oil. As an alternative, you could try adding a few drops of culinary almond essence which is basically the same stuff. Go easy on it though as many people find their skin can react to benhalzdehyde (my skin reacts to p160 but not so much to Cella).
