Happy New Year and happy new month of shaving gear. Describe & display your latest acquisitions here guys...

My latest acquisition -- actually from the end of December -- but the 1st time I've had a chance to take some photos of this unique miniature. An Emir. was it an eyebrow or mustache razor or simply a little razor toy? There's a real DE blade in it and an extra in the wrapper here.

I display it next to the gold & rhodium-plated Popular -- for scale.

Santa Maria Novella Melograno (Pomegranate); another addition to my old-world, monastery-made, a/s collection: SWEET!

Went for a drive out in country NSW Australia.
Found a few thing including a Red Tip Super speed (england) in top condition with case for $6
Also found a "Gift set for men" by Potter & Moore unused, from what i could find its from the 40's-50's.

I don't have any pictures but I got my favorite acquisition NYD. My aunt bought my grandparents house when they passed away and when I was there Saturday I noticed a dish on a bathroom shelf with three grungy fat boys and a red tip. I asked her where she got them and she said they were my grandfather's and asked me if I wanted one. So I am the proud owner of an I3 dated fatboy that was my grandfathers. It isn't much to look at right now but a good cleaning should remedy that.

Most of this is actually december.... but I took the pics tonight... so I'll count it January:

Not a bad Haul I think!

Happy New Year guys!

I bought a bottle of ASB in town just before New Year and ordered a few things over the internet as well- my package arrived today. Ordered last year, so I am still keeping up with the Shaving Purchase Sabbatical for 2011........

A couple of nice, wooden Mühle shave bowls and a couple of pucks of soap.

My first purchase of the new year was an Edwin Jagger Chatsworth razor with the faux ivory handle purchased off fellow B&B member Rufus this afternoon over coffee.

Had some Christmas gift-money to burn, so I've got a few new toys.

Just starting to get into scents, so I got a T&H Grafton cologne (with matching ASB) off the B/S/T, and a cream + cologne sampler from T&H. Turns out, the BB10 code works on the sampler, too. Also, got an atomizer bottle of DRH Marlborough, since I love the scent but the cream burns my face.

In the other corner, two restored brushes in TGN finest...a ceramic Rooney and an Ever-ready with extra-stuffed. I originally was mainly going for the Rooney, but the Ever-Ready is a real winner...I'm afraid the Rooney may get ignored.

Not pictured: a Harvard H4 on its way from WCS.

Most definitely pictured: my awful photography / image editing skills, ostensibly to be artsy, actually to crop out the dirty socks covering the floor. (Unpacking from holiday travel, you know.)

The Gold Traveller is here! Case is in magnificent condition, some pitting and scratching on the rest of it but otherwise it is surprisingly good condition. I feel I may have paid a bit much for it but I am not disappointed.

Next up is a pair of TV Superspeeds - D2 & D3. Purchased these on the 'Bay and in mint condition - there's not a scratch on them.

Then 200 SuperMax SS, ultra cheap blades and looking forward to seeing how they go.

200 feathers and a NOS Z4 Tech from dridiot. It's a birthyear razor for me.

Today's delivery saw my WCS order come in, definitely got held up in Christmas rush but it's understandable:

Lord Platinums, Crystals, TOBS Sandalwood, and Col Conk Lime & Bay Rum. I haven't experienced Bay Rum before so I only wanted to get a cheapie to test it out. A little over $3 is a bargain!

Now, the third cousins, twice removed of the TV Specials that arrived yesterday.....

A '46 and '48 Milord.... I would say these are as close to mint as you will get without finding a NOS example.

Just an idea of the shine of these. Tiny scratches on the doors from the case only, I am ecstatic with the quality. The price... $50 each which i see as a MASSIVE bargain.

That's why I think it's dead... Somehow the edge is straight but going on one side... I will try honing it anyways...

A very pitted C.V. Heljestrand - I don't think I will restore this one - very small blade and I don't think it has much life left... It was razor 1/2 of a lot of 2. Razor 2/2 in next post!

Now, the nice one :)biggrin:) - La Colombe - 6/8 - French Straight. A tiny bit of pitting on the tip of the spine. Should clean nicely!

I really like this one, Luc. Going to keep my eyes out for that name... I would like to pick one of these up.

Nice score.

Thanks mate, I'm almost done cleaning the Fontenille/Colombe so I will post more pictures in the straight forum...

The Colombe feels quite sharp but I wouldn't shave with it after looking at the edge with the microscope...

Received my 1903 SC from Peterman today. Also got my Simpson Colonel from the B/S/T. May use both later this evening.

Just received my first e-bay buy, its a OLD JOSEPH ELLIOT STRAIGHT RAZOR EARLY HORN HANDLE 3/4" blade looks great to be able to clean up nicely. Has a real nice weight to it, horn scales will have to go, but they must of be beauty's at one time.

Anyone familiar with this blade comments would be welcomed.

my last purchases of the year, bought on Dec 28 and arrived within the past week.

I already have a third of a block that I got with 2 other B&B members, but I love this stuff so much I bought a kilo for myself. Hey, if anything was going to make me fail at the sabbatical, this was it, considering this might no longer be around in 2012. Thanks Joe.

The brush I got from Dave (DSB). Looks beautiful and gave me the best lather of that P160 I could never get with my Tweezerman. I think I should be good to go for the year. Will probably stay away from the Score threads. :biggrin1:

Muhle Sea Buckthorn soap missing from the picture.

Now that it is 2011 I am the model of shave gear restraint.....

Nice old type, late xmas present from mom. Pretty decent shape, case is a little rough. Razor is in ok shape but the threads appear a bit stripped, it had plumbers tape on it when I got it. I'm gonna clean it up and see if it sticks better otherwise I'm gonna have to see what can be done to repair it. The razor holders are in great shape and I'm amazed that the guide is still in it, interesting read!

C256729 code makes me think that its from 1912 from the chart
