Accu Wedge Rifle Buffer?

Anyone use this thing?

Here is a claim from an online vendor:

"Small piece of rubber that installs below the take down pin in AR-15, Sporters, Match HBars and all clones of the AR-15. Improves accuracy, prevents wear, makes the gun tighter and more stable. Manufactured by CMMG."

I was thinking this device would improve accuracy, but I have read various accounts that at best, it simply removes the rattle from a sloppy upper to lower receiver fit, with NO improvement in accuracy. :confused1

I put one in mine because it was a little bit loose and it annoyed me. I saw no improvement in accuracy. You can carve one out of a wine cork pretty easily and save a little coin.

Accuracy in an AR has absolutely nothing to do with upper/lower fit.

All the accurate bits are in the upper.

I shot expert in basic with an M16A2 built from an FN M16A2 upper, an original (1965-ish) "AR15 M16" lower without a magazine release fence, overstamped BURST from AUTO that sounded like a castanet.

Still shot excellently, because the rattling had no effect on accuracy.

CMMG isn't exactly known for spectacular guns. Some run well, but many don't......

My Remmy R15 has just a bit of slop. Barely noticeable though. I too had an M16A1 in
the Army that was well used.

I have a Colt H Bar competition model that came with one. It is just to tighten the perceived fit of upper and lower. It does not actually affect the fit, but will dampen or eliminate any movement by acting as a wedge between the two parts.
