Update: Yesterday I received the S1 slant bar razor head, and today I tried it out for the first time. Loved it. I felt the S1 to be on a par with the R1 in terms of efficiency, but the R1 feels a tad more aggressive while the S1 feels a tad smoother. I found some of my trouble spots easier to navigate with the slant, too. All in all a keeper. Very, very pleased.
Conclusion: I've found my niche with ATT - the R1, H1 and S1 work best for me.
Just to make sure, I shaved with my Merkur 34c HD this past Wednesday. Suffice it to say, after using ATT razors for the past 2 months exclusively, it might be difficult for me to reach for the the 34c again. Above the Tie is just that good, and their customer service is awesome.
