What's new

? about velet auto-strop

I know it's open comb, but the newer models may have a guard bar. I only use the VC1 so I can use modified SE blades w/out having to buy Feathers.

I'm not clear on the naming conventions, but what I believe were the last design from Valet Autostrop was the "Runner Guard" model. Like the previous version it used 'wings' on both sides of the blade to hold it but was (I think) the only model with a solid bar rather than an open comb.

Bill. That must be the model I have

Correct. The VC3 and VC4 models both had the side wings on the blade holder. The VC3 is open comb, the VC4 has the bar guard (aka "Runner Guard"):

The VC4 was the only bar guard version, and was the last version produced (1940's)
