A Superior razor

Picked up this Superior lather catcher on the Bay a while back and received it today.
Pics are "as received", still needs a bit of a cleaning before I use it, but it is in nice condition.
I think that it is probably missing the lower part of the handle that I guess would be the blade stropper

I believe this is the first model that Superior made, as the patent date is 1900.
I do not know much about the history of Superior but they seemed to have ties with Gem.
Perhaps these were made by Gem with a Superior label??

It came with a couple of Superior blades but I'm not sure if these are period correct for the razor.

Got the old Superior all cleaned up (turned out really nice) and had a great shave with it today.
Henrik-yes it does take a standard SE blade
