I wanted to send my brother back home, my AOS travel shaving brush I have here with me, so that he'll finally have one, but that would leave me brushless.
I was in Bologna for my research today, so I knew I just had to get myself an Omega brush (they're Bolognese made). The factory is too far away from the Archive where I work, so during my last coffee break for the day, I wondered around, hoping to find something. Just when I was about to give up, I noticed I was standing in front of a shop which had shaving brushes on display. The girl in the store was so incredibly nice, that not only did she show me a whole bunch of models (with the greatest of patience), she threw in some home made Italian soap for me to try, free of charge. I didn't notice where the shop was located, but I'll be sure to notice on my next trip to the city, and post it here.
I walked out with a couple of Omegas - badger. The 599 (http://www.westcoastshaving.com/Omega-599-Silvertip-Badger-Shaving-Brush_p_770.html 14) Is great. About the 367, I'm not sure (http://www.westcoastshaving.com/Omega-637-Silvertip-Badger-Shaving-Brush_p_486.html). Post actum, I'm not sure that getting the a silver tip (as opposing to the harder bristles) was wise, as I am using soaps and soft soaps, almost exclusively. I think I won't shave with it yet, and contemplate returning it for a harder bristle grade. And if a silver tip, why not a fancier handle?
Any suggestions or insights on this would be most welcomed.
