I went to a fairy this week in Nürnberg and I definately planned to visit the town to pick up some soaps.
Speick and Irisch Moos were sold at almost every drugstore/supermarket and I picked them up as I didn't have them before. Speick sticks are sold there for 2,50 and the Irisch Moos for around 5.
When I was almost ready to give up my search for more to buy, my wife directed me to a shop to pick something up for her mother and am I glad she did. When I entered the shop I saw at a glance the names Penhaligon's, T&H, TOBS, C&E, Floris, Woods of Windsor popping up and I felt (and according to my wife behaved) like a boy at a candyshop.
I bought all their remaining Penhaligon's soaps (all three BB as they were out of stock for EF), 1 Wood of Windsor, 1 lavender TOBS, 1 T&H and 1 Floris JF.
About the Penhaligon's soaps. One soap mentions Sodium Tallowate as the first ingredient and the other two as the 5th ingredient. I suppose the first one is an older batch and the other two the ones which are being discontinued to be reformulated?
The same for Wood of Windsors. They had the mug and soap which didn't mention tallowate but the refills did have Sodium Tallowate as the first ingredient.
Did Wood of Windsor also reformulate in the past and are those the older ones?
If so, is it wise to contact them again and buy up all the remaining refills?
