Well I had intentions of pulling the scales on this set of Spike raozrs, but upon closer inspection there was no warp, no chips or any real reason to. One had some bad rust on the tail which a brass wire wheel and some self-made soft scrapers took care of. I also just touched the tail to 400# paper on the 9" disc grinder to clean it up a bit. Then off to the buffer. Took the celluloid scales back to 2500# and then finished with white rouge and Novus #2 by hand. Original scales are pinstriped white and ivory. The difference between the two is pretty glaring, size, shaping, details, it all shows which one was made on a Friday and the other in the middle of the week.
I really just love the logo on these razors! Also being a 1/4 hollow adds a nice heft to them for the 5/8 size
I am contemplating filling the lettering on the scale of one of the razors to differentiate between the two. I also plan on making a case to hold them together.
