A multi-razor shave ?

I know it sounds nuts but humor me.

The discussion on the Medical Personna (MP) blades, and comments by Ackvil led me to re-evaluate them based upon his observations.

My conclusion, which was suggested by Ackvil, was that a less sharp blade, like the MPs, though it did not shave as closely during pass 1, might be preferrable.

Yes, perhaps it took more passes, as each pass did not cut so closely, but it was more forgiving, smoother, and less expensive. So after 4 or 5 passes, the shave would be as good as a 3 pass with a Feather.

Given that, it would seem ideal to have a blade that adjusted its' sharpness/smoothness based upon what pass I was on.

So, if I started a shave with a mild razor (Tech) and an aggressive blade (Feather), then switch to a more aggressive razor with a forgiving blade for passes 2 ~ n.

In summary:
Pass 1 = Tech + Feather
Pass 2~n = Gillette OC + MP (or some other mild blade)

Would it work better if I switched and used the Tech combo for passes 2~n.
I think the place to start would be the sharper combo so as to take off more hair during pass 1.

Gillette OC + Feather == Blood and weepers. This combo really whacks them off but I have to take my time and be ultra careful, which I tend to not do.

The one size fits all blade I use now is an Iridium.

I am going to try this today and see what happens.

And yes, I do have too much time on my hands and love this shaving stuff. :001_smile

:idea:The idea light bulb just came on and told me DOH, get an adjustable and use a Feather. *smacks forehead*

Sorry to bother you with my musings.

I would think you would want the sharper blade first, then the milder smoother blade and razor for the subsequent passes.

In a recent thread I think I read that most people that use adjustables had indicated that they started more aggressive and toned it down for the later passes, especially ATG. Some did say the opposite though, so YMMV.
