Ahh, so all my brushes have come in and have begun to get broken in and be used. 
I thought I would try and post a little Friday porn for some noobs out there. These were my five choices for starter/value brushes.
I began with the Tweezerman about a year ago. Great brush for the price, graduating to the Rooney 3/1 in silvertip about a month ago. After reading over the past couple weeks about the Semogue Owners Club ( http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=155666 ) and the New Forest 2201 ( http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=158573&highlight=forest ), I figured I needed my first boar brush and should give the NF2201 a go. At the same time I was taking a look at the B/S/T and saw this Kent AP8 and thought I just needed to give that a go and if I didn't like it (yeah, right) I would let the wife use it for her shaving needs (got to try and keep her happy, he he).
All in all, I believe I have five great brushes, all behave a tad bit differently and all meeting my needs, some being good face lather brushes, some being better scuttle/cup lather builders. AP8 being the softest with least backbone to the SOC (still breaking in) having the most scrubbiness. I believe that my favorite is currently the Rooney, but as I said, each day I get to choose my favorite at that moment as they all have some way in which each is better than the rest.
None of these brushes cost over $75 bucks (in fact three of them are less than $40) if I remember correctly. I mainly just wanted to say how happy I am with my purchases, thanks in large part to all of you and your reviews and opinions. Thank you B&B.
