Tonight, for the first time, I had a shave time of under 10 minutes. No, I usually do not time myself and I, like many of you, use this time to clear my mind and focus on a singular task. However, this evening I decided to start the stopwatch on my phone and see where I ended up. I did my usual 2 pass shave with touch up at the chin and corners of the mouth if necessary. I had a wonderful shave with no nicks, cut, irritation, etc. Mild alum sting for a <5, as usual. Easily a DFS, which is what I aim for.

I was very pleased. I had never had a time in the single digits (at least not that I had recorded) so this was a significant accomplishment for me, particularly when I think back to my first few straight "shaves" which bordered on an hour to completion, not including the DE touch-up that was necessary.
I post this not only to share my accomplishment and sense of satisfaction, but also as a mark of encouragement to those out there just getting started. I promise, if you stick with it, it will get better.
