A Brush Question

Hi there to all,

I'm looking for a silver-tip brush which has a big knot like the one on Chubby 2 or 3, but I want it with a backbone like a boar or a badger brush and it shouldn't spread like a hand-fan when I apply it on my face.

Right now I have silver-tip from Shavemac which I use regularly, Omega 75th year special addition, but it's backbone is not as strong as shavemac's and it's knot spreads with a small pressure. Last I bought a Frank Shaving silver-tip: Knot size 28MM; Brush loft: 54MM, It is an excellent brush for the money you pay for it, but not as stiff as I was expecting. Maybe I have to look for a brush with shorter loft if it does exist.

I tried to use boar or badger brushes, but because my skin is very sensitive they give me a prickly feeling, my skin gets red and this causes a terrible shave for me: my skin gets more sensitive and prone to cuts and nicks.

I have some synthetic brushes like Body-Shop or Omega with such a nice backbone/stiffness but they are not big and dense enough for my taste.

Is there such a silver-tip or a synthetic brush?

Kind regards,
Memo

The Chubbies are Simpson's densest brushes and in either 2-band or 3-band offer plenty of backbone without the "prickly feeling" you're trying to avoid. If you liked the size of the FS brush, I'd go with the Chubby 2 as the 3 is really massive. I think a Shavemac D0-1 3-band would also fit the bill and you can custom order it here. I would order it with a bulb shaped knot and a loft that is no more than 2X the knot diameter. While Vintage Blades is currently out of stock, the Rooney XLs (either a 2 or 3) are also superb. These are 2-band only and are some of the finest brushes available. None of these brushes lack backbone nor will they splay excessively on your face. I also wouldn't hesitate to pick one up on BST if they became available.
