So, being new to wet shaving, I have a ton of questions. But this one I'll try to keep simple. To date, I have only aquired brushes in different kits. One being an AOS kit, one a TOBS Cream/brush combo, and one being an eShave kit. These are the only brushes I have experience with. Now, I'm fairly certain that all the brushes are badger as advertisted. The TOBS is made in England (as stamped on it), the other two are "unknown". The eShave looks like it's assembled in New York, but parts sourced...
Enough background - on to the question. I have noticed that some brushes shed a bit more than others and one particular bush is shedding like crazy! The one that is shedding like crazy has ~12 hairs in the bag when it was opened and each time I use it, I would guess there are 20-25 hairs in lather/sink/face/razor. I am using a bowl to lather, and I'm not pushing down on the on the brush. The other two brushes lost a couple of hair each, but are no longer shedding after the 1st shave. So, is this "normal"? I've begun looking at other brushes at this point and would like to know if this is should be expected. How long do I let it shed before declaring it defective? In most things cost and quality follow the same path, is it true with brushes as well?
Okay, sorry - more than one question
