Yeah, I knew I'd have to try it eventually. So to take my mind off debasing myself with the new toy 5 blade razor I just got in the mail (a shaving non-event, to put it plainly), I broke out the ancient Aqua Velva sampler.
I put on about a quarter size puddle. It felt very soothing, first of all, but then my face was not very abused by the new Gillette, either, so I really can't say if it does the soothing job or not. But I did have a minor nick or two; if this AV ever had any sting to it, there is practically none left now. I've had hard water sting me worse after shaving.
Scent on the skin is much weaker than what you can smell from the bottle, which surprised me. The bergamot is still there but the citrus/lime is pretty much gone on the skin. Without knowing what it was, the Wife had to get her nose pretty close to smell anything. But she said what's there is really nice (she doesn't lie about these things).
So now I know. No point in using more, so I think I'll seal it up in a box and not waste any more of it.
