'79 birth year options

So, ive been at this about 6 months. Started with a EJ 89, picked up a 60's TTO and a gillette new OC along the way. EJ89 is my everyday razor the others i cycle in from time to time.

I though I should start hunting around for a birth year razor. Looks like a good option would be a Z-4 Gillette Super Adjustable.

I'm curious on opinions from others though, are there other options? I'll probably keep looking for the adjustable either way. Are there other brands that used date coding like this?

Looks like the 3 piece tech was still in production =z But i guess you want actual birth year debuts.

You can get a Super Adjustable.

You should consider a razor made in your father's birth year, not yours. Back then the quality control was much better.

I have a Z1 1979 Gillette Flare tip SS. I don't use it often, but it sure it pretty.

I think the SA will be on my list. I had seen the Atra but havent looked at that one much.

Fathers birth year is a good idea too, some interesting options there i'm sure.

This is an interesting thing. Is it only Gillette that's been around since then and still available to buy (at least second hand) today? I'm also a '79er and think it would be cool to have a razor from my birth year, whether I shave with it or not!
