7 O'clock Sharp and 11C - Will I become a Merkur Convert?

The 7 O'clock Sharps are GREAT! Even better in a Merkur 11C.

Up until this month - I was strictly a Gillette man. Now my Gillettes are sitting idle as I tend to favor the Merkurs (37G and 11C). I will be adding an open-comb 1904 to the collection soon.

Great to hear.

I've been using the SharpEdges for a few months with my 34C with great results. I've been looking to move to an open comb and am currently deciding between a Merkur 11C and a Mühle R41. It's good to know the SharpEdges are a nice combo with an open comb.

Those blades are awesome in a Slant, really looking forward to trying them in the 11c. I think that this razor doesn't get the proper recognition here, anyway!

I have both the 11C and the slant (37G). I think the 11C is more aggressive but provides a very close shave. The slant is smooth and comfortable. I believe the slicing action makes the slant more efficient. Sort of a toss up as to which I like best. But I definitely agree that the 11C does not get enough good press.

To me the 11c is a perfect cross between the Slant and the HD, it combines the perfect handling of the HD with the Slant's thoroughness. I can't say which one I like better. Always the one I'm just using, I guess...:001_smile

The 1904's head seems to be the same as the 11c. What makes the razors different in your opinion?

I saw a post from a member who said that the open-comb heads on the three piece Merkurs are not the same as the two piece. I guess I will find out for myself.

I think their 1904 model is the art decor of the range, the head is identical to the Heavy Duty model but clearly the handle whilst heavy is not as heavy as the HD Merkur. I do like the 1904 though...

Tried a Merkur 1904 and a yellow pack 7 o'clock. I am definitely digg'n it. I think some Gillette razors will be up for sale soon.

Have you tried the 7 O'clock Super Stainless (green pack, Made in Russia)? What do you think of them?

I just got a few Gillettes, after 4 years of Merkur, after I use them, I still have to use a Merkur to finish.

Maybe it's my fault cause I use the Merkur wait without applying any pressure. But that does not seem to work on the SS as it is very light.
