3rd and final shave with 2013 Muhle R41

Well Gents, I'm throwing in the towel. This beast is just too much for me at this point. I tried a third attempt this morning with my favorite Astra SP blade. I tried swapping out the handle from my Muhle R89 Grande. I tried altering my angle to really shallow following the suggestions in other threads on this forum. I just can't get the hang of this bad boy. I barely completed the first pass on my right side (ear to nose) and could tell, this is going to hurt today. So I stopped before there was any serious blood shed and switch back to my Feather and finished off my shave.

I think I'm going to put this fine machine up on the B/S/T so that it will have a better home with a more experienced hand that will appreciate it more than I can.

Thanks for all the input on this!

Sorry you didn't get along. I am a sort of counselor, if you would like, I could have a few sessions with it and see what it's side of the story could be. It might like to live with me if you pass on the counseling.

Unacceptably Lasering Chicken Giblets?
Sorry to hear that your relationship didn't work out. The 2011 R41 Grande was my daily razor until the Slant (Merkur 37c) kicked her out on her ear. However, I have put her and her identical twin up in my shave den for the times I need a little more excitement in my life.

Just throw it in a drawer and leave it for a while. You never know, in a few months, when you've gained some more experience, you might come back to it and find you really like it! I've done this before with razors I was sure I was going to sell, and ended up keeping and loving them.

Just prevents you having to re-buy it again in the future when you're curious again.

My face is still burning from that one pass. I think I need to either seriously toughen up or work my technique.
