'34 Aristocrat vs '37 Sheraton

Anyone have both? If so how do you compare the shave between them? I love my Sheraton but I would love to have a '34 Aristocrat as well.

All comments appreciated. I am sure this has been hashed in here already but I am not very good at finding things in the forum so links to other discussions on this are welcome as well.

The 'Crat is on another plane altogether. It is smoother and still gives the great BBS. I like them both, but if I had to get down to 1 razor, it would be the '34 'Crat.

ETA - I would also keep the Senator over the Sheraton, but it is close.

I just now won a '34 Crat on the bay right after starting this thread. It needs a little TLC, maybe even a re-plate. Shipping seemed out of line but I was the only bidder and got it for the opening bid.

You might be surprised. Mine looked worse than that and it cleaned up to about 95%. The silo doors still have some scuffing, but the rest looks pretty good.

I looked at that one, also. Glad someone from B&B got it. I have a '36 Aristocrat DeLuxe out for refurbishing so haven't had a chance to try it yet.

Slightly off topic, but how does the '34 Aristocrat differ from the other OC Aristocrats? Other the the '34 being the first year, do the razors function any differently?

Here is nice link from B&B/Cory;

Great link and comparison. However, the link does not explain if there's any difference between the '34 Aristocrat and other '30's Aristocrats.

36 has a rounder head that leads to a more aggressive razor.. But there is very little difference visually between the two so it's hard to tell apart

Thanks. It just seems that the '34 Aristocrat is the coveted razor, more so than the other OC Aristocrats. Most likely that's because it's the year one model.

Maybe from the collectors standpoint.. But I want the 36 because it shaves a little more aggressive

The 1936 Crat/De Luxe is less mild than the 1934. For me I prefer the 1934 because i like more aggressive razors and the 34 crat is more effective for me. The lower priced Sheraton/Senator was the Crat alternatives but those 2 are less aggressive than the other 2 so I wont consider them.
